What is Drop-In Childcare ?
According to North Carolina law, Drop-in/short-term care child care would be used by parents who need care while they occasionally run errands or participate in leisure activities. The operation must be able to reach the parent by telephone, cell phone, or pager, etc., if they are not on the premises. The parent must be able to get back to the program within 15 minutes.
Drop-in/short-term child care arrangements are not required to be licensed or regulated by any state agency, including the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) or the Division of Child Development and Early Education (DCDEE). These arrangements must complete a Registration Application and receive a notice that must be posted in a prominent location to notify parents that they are not required to be and are not licensed or regulated, as required by G.S. 110-86(2)(d)(d1) and G.S. 110-99(c).
How did Drop-In Childcare begin at XCA
Kristina (mom herself and owner of Xtreme Challenge Athletics), realized that although her 2 year old loves hanging out during track out camp, there are no little friends her age for her to learn and explore with. Being a small business owner, Kristina also appreciates having a convenient option of care when having to attend meetings and run out for errands that her little one doesn't really like sitting still for. Knowing there are others out there who understand what a hard task it is to juggle it all, Kristina decided to extend the invitation to those out there needing care some times last minute and some times every once in a while.
New to the drop-in care routine!
When arriving and dropping off your child/children at
Xtreme Challenge Athletics, a staff member is there to greet you and your little one(s) before exchanging your temporary goodbyes.
Don't be alarmed if you show up during childcare hours and the doors are locked.
The doors are locked to guard who is allowed to enter when we have your children in our care.
Our goal is provide a safe and nurturing environment while presenting fun-filled activities like story time, age appropriate arts and crafts, tiny tumble class and just simple ole' free play!
